CHRISTY STOECKEL

Christy has coached at the high school and club level for many years and brings in a great experience. Christy has coached at several local high schools including Woodbridge, Corona Del Mar, and Laguna Beach. Christy has also coached for various clubs including Team Tulsa, Momentous, Mission Gold, and was most recently at Saddleback for 17 years. Christy has had much success as a coach and has achieved the following:

  • Junior Olympics - Gold Medal and coached 3 players named All-American including one named Tournament MVP
  • Mid-East Qualifier - Gold Medalists in 2023
  • Volleyball Festival 6th, 9th, 11th
  • SoCal Qualifier - 4th
  • Far western Qualifier - 9th
  • Las Vegas Classic - 2nd, 9th
  • Honored with the annual Distinguished Service to Junior Volleyball award at Volleyball Festival 

Christy is also the recruiting coordinator for Prime and has helped numerous athletes get recruited to play volleyball at the next level.

"I coach because I have a passion for the sport and for helping young people. I love being part of their journey with the sport. To see them grow in their skills, gain confidence in themselves, and make new friends is a great part of coaching. So many people helped me in my younger days and I love being able to give back to a sport that gave me so much. Keeping in touch with players five, ten even fifteen years later and hearing about their lives, seeing all they've accomplished is the best!


When not working or coaching, I love to play tennis, go to the beach and do volunteer work."

Christy played at Laguna Hills High School and was named Athlete of the Year her senior year. She set records for her school for most kills, blocks and aces in a game, season, and career. She was also selected All League 3 times and selected to play in the Orange County All star game as a senior. Christy was also named part of the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 her senior year. Christy earned a full ride scholarship to Oregon State University where she played for the Beavers for 4 years. 

Christy has been coaching for 27 years and has been coaching at Prime for 6 years.
