"Having such a deep love for volleyball and getting the opportunity to apply it in coaching has been such a privilege. Using my court IQ to formulate systems and strategies then implement them to improve our teams. Seeing the girls faces when you describe to them how to do something and then them applying it and getting excited about it is a very rewarding experience. Coaching this year has made me realize so much more about the game as well and has helped me a lot with my indoor play. My goal as a coach is to impact players by empowering them, inspiring them, and making a difference in their experience to have the best opportunities and help them develop/achieve their goals.
I have also experienced a season ending injury in 2021, tearing my ACL and Meniscus, but it only made me so much more motivated to continue playing and come back from it. It changed my whole perspective to the game and I was able to see it differently on the sideline, making me a better volleyball player and coach because of it. In my spare time I enjoy being active, trying new coffee spots, and reading."
Alex, played club volleyball for Forza1 North where, as a captain, helped lead her team to a Gold medal in the 18 Patriot National Championships in 2018. Alex also played for Apple Valley High School where she was MVP and Captain in 2017-18. Alex led the conference in points and kills and was named 1st Team All Conference from 2015-2018.
Alex went on to play for the University of Hawaii at Hilo as an Opposite from 2018-2022, and was team captain from 2020-2022. Alex and her team attended the NCAA Division 2 Regional Tournament inn 2019. She led her team in aces, was 2nd in kills, and 3rd in blocks in 2021. Alex is also a 6 time Pepsi Athlete of the Week.
Currently Alex is using her 5th year to play for the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles as an Outside/Opposite (2022-23). While at CUI Alex is completing a Masters of Education: School Counseling.
