The club season runs from late October through early July for our 11s, 12s, 13s, and 14s teams and runs from late November through early July for our 15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s teams

  • What's the best way to prepare for club tryouts?

All of our youth development programs and summer camps are a great starting point and then we highly recommend attending multiple Pre-Tryout Skills Clinic sessions as they are a great opportunity to work with our Prime club coaches and play with potential club teammates

  • How often are tournaments and where are they?

Our teams compete in tournaments 1-2 times a month and SCVA tournaments are rarely more than an hour away and are often in the Orange County area.  Please consult the SCVA Tournament Schedule for local tournament dates for each age group. In addition our teams may travel to out of state USAV National Qualifiers with our adidas teams travelling more than our Molten, Blue, and White teams.

  • What is included in club team fees?

    - Weekly strength and conditioning

    - Beach training

    - Prime Mentality Program

    - Equipment

TRAVEL COSTS AND FEES ARE NOT INCLUDED (tournament cost, housing, transportation, and food for athletes and coaches)

Travel fees will be charged seperately at the start of the season. Each 3 day tournament fee is $350 while 4 day tournaments will be charged at $450 and this covers the tournament entry fee and housing, transportation and food for all coaches.

Player transportation and hotel costs are paid by families independently as flights and housing are booked by families directly with families booking through the tournament housing systems we are required to use.  All families must stay at the team hotel for all travel tournaments.

  • How many players are on each club team?

Prime team rosters are typically 12 players but sometimes a team might have one more or one less player depending on the makeup of the team. Rosters with at least 12 athletes allow for better training opportunities during practice sessions as it allows our teams to play 6 on 6 volleyball to best prepare for competition.

  • What can my daughter expect in terms of playing time?

Prime VC does not offer any guarantee of playing time to any athlete. Our purpose is to compete and be successful at the highest levels locally and nationally. While our coaches will do their best to get all team members on the court to gain tournament experience, our coaches’ priority at tournaments is making decisions that are in the best interest of the team as a whole and its success. Players will be expected to earn their starting position or playing time every day in practice. Factors that can affect playing time are: attendance at practice, attitude and work ethic, leadership skills, team chemistry, statistical analysis, and performance during practices and matches. Players on the bench are expected to encourage and show their support for players on the court. Poor attitudes or negative behavior will not be tolerated. All athletes will have equal opportunity to play, compete, learn, and improve during all practice sessions which is where the majority of learning and progress occurs, assuming their attendance at practices is consistent.
